Apple today presented a new iPad at the Education Event organized in Chicago. According to The Verge report, Apple has introduced this 9.7-inch iPad with Apple Pencil support. This updated iPad will be available on Apple Stores from today and this device can be purchased in Silver, Space Gray and New Gold Finnish Color. This tablet includes Touch ID, HD Face Time Camera, 10 hour battery life and an 8-megapixel rear camera, and this device is equipped with LTE option and Apple’s A10 Fusion Chip.
Apple is offering this iPad at $ 299 for school students this year, and for other customers this device is available in $ 329. Optional Apple Pencil is priced at $ 89 for school students, while the price for ordinary customers is priced at $ 99. Of course, this device does not have an iPad budget of $ 259, but it is definitely worth little for students and teachers.
Even now, buying this iPad with Apple pencil and keyboard will cost $ 450, which is quite expensive with a cheap Chromebook. Google is also offering Chrome OS tablets, this could be a collision for the iPad coming in $ 299.
This new iPad will be a major addition to Apple’s lineup because it will bump Google’s Chromebooks. Apple’s iPads and Mac laptops have achieved the highest level of US classes only 5 years ago. Apple is trailing Google and Microsoft in US schools and Chromebooks dominate in schools.
Apple introduced Pencil Stylus almost 2 years ago, but at that time it used to work only with the expensive iPad Pro model and was sold separately for $ 99. However, this stylus will still be sold separately even with the new iPad, but now it will also work with the cheap model.
