Birth of Gautama Buddha

After this he remained with an Acharya but he was not satisfied there. After this he started his own penance. Due to his strict penance, the work had become shaky but he had not yet attained the knowledge. After this he went roaming on one day, on the banks of river Naranjana (Phalgu) near Uruwala, and there, sitting under a papal tree, became a place of pilgrimage. Yes, Buddha remained in Samadhi for six years and after this he received knowledge on Vaisakh Purnima, after which he was called Mahatma Gautam Buddha. On the place where Buddha received knowledge, ‘Bodh Gaya’ and Peepal tree are called Bodhi tree. In these six years, it is called ‘Shodohi Kal’ in Buddhist literature.
Lord Buddha’s Nirvana
Gautam Buddha gave his first sermon in Sarnath and established Buddhism. He was 483 BC At Vaishak Poornima, after leaving his body in Kushinagar, he became absorbed in the universe. This incident is called ‘Mahaparinirvana’.
